BLESSED SACRAMENT CHURCH
G-5344 LAPEER ROAD
FLINT, MICHIGAN
Dear Parishioner:
In responding to our building fund campaign with a true spirit of sacrifice, our people are proving that they sincerely want to provide a new home for Christ and a school for His beloved little ones. I am sure that you are all praying with me for the success of our campaign. You realize, of course, that to translate good intentions into good deeds there must be a willingness on your pert to make a gift of real sacrifice and Join with others in assuming your "Fair Share" of this burden.
A LIVING MEMORIAL may be dedicated by pledging $500 or more for the 24 month payment period. All names of those who make such a sacrifice will be in- scribed together with a suitable dedication on an attractive plaque that will be permanently displayed in our new building. What is more important than these letters in brass, will be the inscription recorded in your name on the Heart of Our Divine Saviour. If you cannot reach the memorial level but still want to make a special gift of sacrifice because of your love and compassion for the Crucified Christ, you may have your name listed on the Benefactor's Plaque which will be dedicated to Him in the Most Blessed Sacrament. A donation of $350 is asked for this privilege.
A "Minimum Fair Share Gift" of $250 has been set for those who cannot reach either of the above categories. This amounts to only 31-cents a day after an initial down payment of 10% and with real self denial everyone in the parish should be able to meet this figure over the 24 month period. This is not an assessment. Each person has the right to refuse but they must realize that they are refusing Christ and must answer to Him. We must decide now if we will stand at the Foot of the Cross with Our Blessed Mother, and with Her openly show our love for Her Divine Son, or if we will shrink away from sharing His burden and only make ourselves known in petition but never in thanksgiving.
Two of your fellow parishioners will call on you to more fully explain the program and accept your gift of sacrifice. Be courteous to them and as generous to God as He has been to you.
May Our Saviour guide you in making this decision for Him so that you can share with Him the Joys of a Glorious Easter.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Rev. Howard J. Noeker,
Pastor
